Our Disney Cruise: Day 1

Today's the day!!! After a fun day at the Space Center, a yummy dinner at Fish Lips and a shopping spree at Ron Jon's we got a good nights sleep and woke up to VERY excited girls. We packed up and drove a mile down the road to Port Canaveral. The Disney terminal was great. It was already decorated for Christmas- so cute. The girls got to see Mickey and Minnie. They loved the replica of the ship- Maddie even tried to find our stateroom on it. We got the kids all checked in for their upcoming week of activities and then headed on board. On our way into the ship they announced our family's name- so cute. While we waited for our room to be ready we went to a buffet lunch- the girls were thrilled to have shrimp (and lots of them). After lunch we found our stateroom- the girls loved having a balcony- we were right next door to our friends, so the kids could peek around the corner at eachother. After getting a little settled we went to check out the ship and see where the kids were going to go for their activities- such cute play areas- and alot of fun things planned for the week. Next we were back to the room to get our lifevests- practice evacuation drill and then on up to the pool deck for the Bon Voyage party. The deck party was a blast. All of the Disney characters were there dressed as sailors to help send us off. We learned cute dances and sang- the girls loved this- especially Emmy. At 4:00 the whistle blew and we were on our way. We finished up our day with dinner at Animator's palate- so cute (a black and white cartoon room that colorizes during dinner- as well as the servers who change from black and white vests to color for the end of the meal) and then to the opening night show. We had a perfect first day :)
